A Bible Readathon has been conducted on the steps of our nation’s capitol in Washington D.C. every year since 1990 and was established by Dr. John Hash and Dr. Corinthia Boone. Readathons have been conducted in places all across the US including state capitols, school campuses, city parks and churches.
The spring of 2023 marks the 14th year for the Venice Bible Readathon. The Venice Bible Readathon was established by Karla Roy, Kathy Bolam, and Susan Nartowicz. In years past, the mayor has issued a proclamation from the city of Venice in honor of the Venice Bible Readathon, just as former President George H.W. Bush did for our nation in 1990.
The Venice Bible Readathons start on a Tuesday at 7 PM with praise and worship and a welcome message. Our first reader will begin to read from Genesis at 8 PM. The readathon usually finishes between 11 AM and 1 PM on Saturday, depending on the speed of those reading.
